   guarding deity.     Thaliak, The Scholar
  gender.     Female
  pronouns.     She/Her
  sexuality.     Bi-Curious.
Male leaning.

  height.     Smoll
  body shape.     Petite with curves
hair color.     Mid-length black hair, usually tied back in a tight, practical ponytail to keep it out of her face.
eye color.     Her striking blue eyes shimmer like moonlight on snow—cool, distant, and always calculating.
  skin tone.     Pale tan
  notable features.
Across her skin are delicate, shimmering markings—ancestral glyphs of her clan’s legacy. Like all of her people, she bears no tail; the Obsidian Veil long ago shed their mystical traits in favor of cold efficiency.

virtues.     Resilience – Arani is a survivor. No matter what’s been taken from her, she always finds a way to stand back up.
Discipline – Even without help, she’s trained herself rigorously. She doesn’t rely on talent—she earns every strike.
Loyalty – Especially to those she chooses to care about (like Keira). She’d kill for them—quietly, efficiently.Curiosity – She wants to know more about the world, magic, power, even darkness… she’s not content with the path carved for her.
Intuition – She has sharp instincts, both in battle and reading people—though Ryuki’s the one person who can still trip her up.
Emotional Depth: She feels things deeply, but rarely shows it—making her inner world rich and stormy.

place of origin.     The Obsidian Veil Clan – a secretive, mountain-dwelling lineage of assassins and shadow-warriors.
  marital status.     Single

likes.     Solitude in nature – Especially forests or mountaintops where wind, water, and earth converge; places where she feels free.
Weapons training – The rhythm of it, the repetition, the control it gives her. It's the one thing she truly owns.
Silence – Not awkward silence, but purposeful quiet—the kind that lets her think, breathe, be.
Night air – The coolness, the whisper of wind, the way it feels like a second skin.
Subtle rebellion – Small defiant acts that go unnoticed by her clan, but feed her soul—like wearing something slightly nontraditional, or training in secret.
dislikes.     Being patronized – Especially by men in her clan who see her only as a future breeder or trophy.
Helplessness – When she can’t fight back, protect someone, or control a situation—this cuts her deepest.
Loud, boastful people – Arani has a quiet strength and finds show-offs unbearable… unless it’s Ryuki, which only infuriates her more.Unnecessary cruelty – While she accepts the brutal way of her clan, pointless suffering—especially of innocents—makes her blood boil.Losing emotional control – She hates when someone can stir things in her—lust, fear, confusion—that she can’t regulate… especially when it comes to Ryuki.

flaws.     Stubborn pride – She won’t ask for help, even when she needs it. She’d rather bleed alone than show weakness.
Emotional repression – She buries her anger, fear, desire—until it explodes, usually at the worst time.
Trust issues – Years of control and expectation have made her suspicious of kindness, especially from men.Compulsion for control – She needs to be in control of herself, her surroundings, her body—and Ryuki’s power play destabilizes her in ways she can’t admit.Self-doubt – Beneath her strength is a quiet fear that maybe her father was right, that maybe she’ll never be enough.

  personality.
Outward: Graceful, soft-spoken, composed—everything a perfect Obsidian daughter should be.
Inward: Calculating, fierce, storm-willed. Her loyalty belongs only to her own will. She hungers for stories of rebellion and secretly romanticizes the idea of carving her own legend—on her own terms.  Core Personality  Temperament: Calculated, quietly intense, emotionally repressedDominant Traits:Determined – Once she sets a goal, she will suffer for it.Rebellious – She hides it well, but it bleeds through everything she does.Proud – Not of status, but of earning strength, alone.Sharp-minded – Tactically observant, even when quiet.Secretly Sensual – Not yet explored, but she craves connection in raw, buried ways.

headcanon one. Eavesdropping on Her Father
Hidden in shadow, Arani overhears a conversation where her father admits he plans to sell her off to secure the alliance.
She realizes he never believed in her—not as a warrior, not even as a daughter. Just a pawn. That night, she sharpens her blades longer than she sleeps. It’s no longer about proving herself to him—it’s about surviving him.
headcanon two. A Ceremony She’s Meant to Join As a Breeder
A traditional ritual looms—one where high-born daughters are “given” to strong males to preserve bloodlines.
Arani is expected to wear white, kneel, and smile.Instead, she poisons her ceremonial tea just enough to faint and miss the event.Everyone whispers, but no one dares call her out. Her father watches with narrow eyes. Ryuki laughs—and leaves a blade in her chambers that night as a gift.

Wind Affinity
Summary:
Arani commands wind with surgical precision—silent, swift, and often unnoticed until it’s too late. She can enhance her speed, redirect projectiles, or suffocate enemies with sudden pressure shifts. Her strikes often carry cutting gales, making her blade feel longer than it is.
Water Affinity. Her control over water is fluid and reactive. She can manipulate nearby sources to create whips, barriers, or freezing edges on her weapons. In stealth, she uses condensed moisture to obscure her presence or muffle sound entirely. Emotionally tied, it fluctuates with her mood.
Earth Affinity. Arani’s connection to the earth makes her sturdy and hard to knock down. She can feel vibrations through the ground, track movement, or weaponize shards of stone mid-battle. Though slower to manifest, her earth techniques are brutally efficient once rooted.
Other Elements (Yet to Be Awakened) Though she has a latent connection to the remaining elements—fire, lightning, and more—these powers are dormant or unstable. Whispers of their presence surface under high stress or extreme emotion, hinting at a deeper, more dangerous potential.

   Key Items:.

Important Items commonly found on her person.

   Woven Scarf
A soft, handwoven scarf, frayed and worn with age, carefully hidden under her clothes or draped loosely around her neck when she can get away with it. It’s made of fine, faded fabric woven with delicate strands — some of it traditional threads, some of it hair from her mother, braided in secret as a protection charm when Arani was very young.
It carries a lingering, subtle scent of wildflowers and rain, something that reminds her of softer days before the weight of expectations crushed her spirit.
The scarf isn’t just sentimental — it grounds her during moments of fear or fury, a tether to the parts of herself she refuses to let die.

     Silver Fox Pendant (No Chain)
A symbol of her bloodline, removed from its chain so she can hide it in her clothes. She keeps it close, maybe even hates it — but can’t let it go.

Folded Scrap of Paper with a Poem or Memory
Something deeply personal. Possibly a line her mother once said, or her own writing. Torn from a book, or scribbled in shaky handwriting. Represents the part of her still fighting to be her.

History and Lore

“I don’t know if he’s my ruin or my salvation. Maybe he’s both.”

   Lore:.

The Beginning of an Adventure

  Part 1.
Born beneath a blood moon, Arani came into the world in silence. No cries, no wails—just the soft sound of breath and the steady heartbeat of a child marked by fate. She was the sole daughter of King Alpha Yuumiki, a monarch both revered and feared, whose reign was etched into the land with cruelty, conquest, and the iron rule of ancestral blood.
Arani's Kitsune heritage made her rare—a being born of powerful bloodlines, her foxfire dormant but potent, her spirit steady and ancient. Despite her unaging beauty and ethereal presence, she remained a shadow within her own home, a caged flame behind cold stone walls. Her days were spent among silks, etiquette, and ceremonial obedience. Her nights, however, were when her soul stirred. In secret, she would slip away into the quiet parts of the compound, climbing trees and perching on rooftops, eyes glowing faintly blue beneath the stars as she mimicked the warrior movements she wasn’t allowed to learn.King Yuumiki was not a kind father. He saw strength in brutality, and purpose in obedience. To him, Arani was no warrior—she was a breeding jewel, a daughter meant to be bartered, a womb to carry powerful blood. The mercy he extended by allowing her to live comfortably in the palace was, in his eyes, already more than she deserved. He believed women were to serve, to nurture, to obey. Her voice had no place in politics. Her hands had no business on blades.Yet Arani had always been different.Again and again, she approached her father, kneeling before him, blue eyes fierce with conviction, begging to be allowed to train. “To protect the clan,” she had said. “To become more than just a pawn.” Her pleas were met with silence at first, then mockery. Eventually, in one of his colder moods, Yuumiki relented—not out of belief, but impatience. He offered her a barren corner of the estate, away from the warriors and their eyes, and left her with no weapons, no trainer, and no guidance. “Train,” he had spat. “Waste your time if you must. But do it alone.”And so she did. With bloodied hands and bruised pride, Arani taught herself. She learned from shadows, practiced with wooden branches, and memorized the warriors' movements from afar. Her body grew leaner, her strikes sharper. Her Kitsune abilities began to awaken—subtle flickers of illusion, heightened senses, a healing ability that mended her wounds quicker than the humans around her. She kept to herself, allowing no one to see her grow stronger. For years, her fire burned in silence. But Yuumiki wasn’t blind—he saw the quiet determination in his daughter. He didn’t fear it. Not yet. In fact, he began to wonder how he could use it.It was around that time that rumors of a lost prince began to stir—Ryuki, a figure of darkness and devastation, with a history soaked in violence and a lineage as ancient as the Yuumiki's own. His name had passed through the wind like a bad omen. He was said to be powerful, unpredictable... and unclaimed.Yuumiki saw opportunity.A match like that could breed a child of legendary strength. If Arani wouldn’t bend to become a servant, perhaps she would serve a different purpose—one of bloodline and legacy. A marriage between Ryuki and his daughter would unify blood and power in a way no alliance ever could. His ambitions were coldly logical: invite Ryuki, promise him power, and bind him to the clan through Arani. He didn’t care if she wanted it.He didn’t care who Ryuki really was.He only saw the potential—the next step in a legacy written in dominance. And so, without informing Arani of the full scope of his plans, King Yuumiki sent the call into the night: an invitation to the lost prince to join their clan under the guise of training and strength-building.Arani, still training in her quiet sanctuary, had no idea that her life was about to change. Not because of war.
Not because of rebellion.
But because her father had summoned a storm with teeth, and it was already on its way.

RP Hooks

“He saw the pieces and didn’t look away. That terrified me more than anything else.”

  Hook 1.   The Outburst:
Someone important humiliates Arani publicly—perhaps a rival warrior or elder. She holds back, but later explodes in a rare loss of elemental control, scorched wind and soaked earth rising around her.
Opportunity for another character:
They witness the outburst. Do they stop her? Encourage her? Threaten her for losing control? This is a raw moment where emotions are unfiltered and elemental reactions say what words can’t.
  Hook 2   The Shrine Confession
Arani is found late at night at the old fox shrine, speaking quietly to the statue—maybe praying, maybe threatening the gods, maybe just letting herself be small for once.
Opportunity for another character:
They listen in. Do they confront her? Sit beside her in silence? Mock her belief, or share their own quiet demons? This moment allows for slow emotional burn and philosophical clash or connection
  Hook 3   The Moonlight Spar:
Arani trains alone under the moonlight—silent strikes, breath controlled, weapons glinting under silver light.
Opportunity for another character:
They step in—not to mock or interrupt—but to challenge. A slow, intense spar follows. Not just physical, but laced with unspoken tension. Every clash of blades reveals something about their bond, resentment, or desire. It doesn’t matter who wins—it’s about how close they get
